New Delhi, July 08: The Poshan Tracker has emerged as the digital backbone of India’s POSHAN Abhiyaan, achieving nationwide implementation across all 28 States and 8 Union Territories while registering more than 8.93 crore beneficiaries as of May 2026. The mobile-based platform is strengthening the delivery and monitoring of supplementary nutrition under Anganwadi Services, making nutrition governance more transparent, efficient and data-driven.

According to the government, the platform recorded over 5.5 crore beneficiaries receiving supplementary nutrition for at least 15 days, while 5.17 crore beneficiaries received nutritional support for 21 days or more during the reporting period. The system supports dynamic monitoring of nutrition services and enables authorities to track programme implementation in real time.

The Poshan Tracker covers six beneficiary categories across the life cycle, including children, adolescents, pregnant women and lactating mothers, reflecting the comprehensive approach of POSHAN Abhiyaan. The platform maintains a live monthly database of nutrition indicators for more than 7.7 crore children using Aadhaar-authenticated data, enabling evidence-based policymaking through real-time dashboards and heat maps.

The application has also enabled growth monitoring for over 6.3 crore children aged 0–5 years, covering nearly 94 per cent of all registered beneficiaries. It tracks critical indicators such as stunting, underweight, wasting (SAM/MAM), overweight and obesity, allowing early identification of nutritional challenges and timely intervention.

Before the introduction of the Poshan Tracker, Anganwadi workers were required to maintain 11 manual registers, resulting in delays in data collection and decision-making. The digital platform has significantly improved service delivery through Aadhaar-based beneficiary verification, Facial Recognition System (FRS), digital record-keeping and integrated monitoring, reducing administrative burden while improving accountability and efficiency.

Conclusion

The Poshan Tracker is transforming India’s nutrition ecosystem by combining technology, real-time monitoring and Aadhaar-based authentication, helping strengthen POSHAN Abhiyaan and improve nutrition outcomes for millions of children, women and families across the country.
