Noted indian executive in a french firm and renowned translator passes away

Bengaluru, Jan 24 , 2025 Samantha Ashok, 58, former executive in the HR department of the french firm Suez-Degremont (New Delhi), passed away on Monday  on Jan 14th in Bengaluru of protracted illness.  She was also a noted teacher of French and Business English at the Modi Apollo University whose degrees are awarded by the University of Phoenix and Stratford , Arizona. in the USA.  The institute is run by charu modi.

She is survived by her husband, a noted journalist cum author , TN Ashok, former Editor of PTI wire services New Delhi and former Executive Director, Alstom group of companies SA France/Belgium. He is an international blogger with focus on US domestic and foreign policies writing from New York under the title TNA-Talk. He has been an image management consultant to several MNCs in Delhi and Mumbai. He is author of three books on Covid 19.

Samantha Ashok leaves behind two sons — Aareet Krsna (35) and SriKrishna (35) , both settled in Vancouver , Canada and New Jersey USA respectively. While the former works for an AI company the latter works for TCS in NJ. She also leaves behind two younger sisters Vinita Mahadevan, an IT manager (Minneapolis, Minnesota in USA), Dr Anita Mahadevan MD, ( Neuro pathology), head of the Brain Bank and Neuro Sciences department, NIMHANS, Bengaluru. And aged mother Shyamala Mahadevan, a noted teacher in Bengaluru.

Cremation was performed on Jan 15th and the ashes were immersed on the banks of the Gomati river, near Srirangapatna in Karnataka. (ends)
