NLC INDIA enters into Execution of Coal Mine Development and Production Agreement (CMDPA) Of Machhakata (Revised) Coal Mine in Odisha
New Delhi, July 16: NLC India Limited has emerged as the successful bidder for the Machhakata (Revised) Coal Mine in Angul District of Odisha in the 8thround of commercial coal blocke-auction held recently by the Ministry of Coal, GoI.
The Coal Mine Block has at otal coal reserve of 1.38 Billion Tonnes (approximately)with an operatable peak-rated capacity of 30 Million Tonnes Per Annum.
This is the second commercial coal mine block won by NLC India after North Dhadu Coal Block (Western Part) and the Company is committed to its capacity addition in line with its vision of achieving more than 100 MTPA by 2030 from the present 50 MTPA.
Coal produced from this coal block will help in addressing the energy security of the country indigenously. It also paves way for contemplating alternative means of energy production from coal like gasification thus meeting sustainability requirements.
Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal and NLC India Limited executed the Coal Mine Development and Production Agreement(CMDPA)of Machhakata(Revised)CoalMine (30 MTPA) on 15.07.2024 during the agreement ceremony held at Shastri Bhavan, Ministry of Coal, New Delhi. M. Nagaraju, Addl.Secretary, & Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman & Managing Director, NLCIL, Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines & P&P (AC)), NLCIL, Cheruku Dayanand, CGM, NLCIL and Officials from NLCIL and MoC attended the ceremony.
