New Delhi 23.11.2023 : 21.11.2023 at about 1340 hrs, CISF surveillance & intelligence staff of IGI Airport noticed suspicious activities of a passenger who arrived by Indigo flight 2038 from Chennai (STA 1100 hrs). The individual, later identified as Adhitya Anup Sharma, an Indian national residing in Jayprakash Nagar Yerwada, Pune (Maharashtra), was further bound for Dubai on Air India flight no. AI 915 (STA 1635 hrs).

Promptly acting on their suspicions, the CISF staff intercepted Sharma and subjected him to a detailed inquiry. As part of standard security procedures, he was escorted to the random checking point for a thorough examination of his belongings and mobile phone.
During checking, CISF personnel discovered a digital copy of the Bangladesh National Citizenship document in the name of Alak Barua Dipta (ID Card No-6463157187/Bangladeshi) stored on Sharma’s mobile phone. Despite rigorous questioning, Sharma failed to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the presence of the Bangladeshi document.
A notable concern arose when the photographs and date of birth on Sharma’s Indian Passport and the Bangladesh National Citizenship document matched, raising serious doubts about his identity and intentions.
In adherence to established protocols, the CISF promptly handed over Adhitya Anup Sharma to Immigration authorities along with all recovered documents for further investigation.
