New Delhi, Aug 31 Jaya Verma Sinha, IRMS currently Member (Operations and Business Development has been appointed as new Chairman & CEO, Railway Board.
DoPT issued the order for appointing Jaya Verma Sinha (IRMS) till 30.08.2024.
She joined the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) in 1988 and currently serving as Member, Operations & Business Development, Railway Board and is responsible for transportation of freight and passengers services in Indian Railways
Prior to this she served as Additional Member, Traffic Transporation and under her leadership registered all time high growth of 20% in freight segment and clocked 1.5 billion tonnes annually.
spanning over 35 years of service Jaya Verma Sinah worked on diverse verticals like commercial, Information Technology and Vigilance and first women to be appointed as Principal Chief Operations Manager of South Eastern Railway.
She also served as Prinipal Chief Commercial Manager of Northern Railway and Divional Railway Manager of Sealdah Division.
She also worked as Railway Advisor during her stint at the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh during that tenure the Maltri Express from kolkata to Dhaka was also started.
She is Aluminus of Allahabad University.
