PNB supports Women’s Day


Punjab National Bank participated in an event organized by COWE on the occasion of International Womens Day at Department of   Social Work, Delhi University North Campus, to create awareness for various schemes and skill development programs available for women entrepreneurs. About 200 women gathered from all walks of life, EWS, home makers and entrepreneurs.

While addressing the concern regarding fulfilling the credit needs of the participants Mr. Sameer Bajpai,Assistant General Manager, Punjab National Bank, MSME Division and Mr.P.K Jain, Assistant General Manager, Priority Sector from Punjab National Bank, informed that PNB is a frontrunner in promoting MSME as well as women empowerment. They also shared the initiative of the Bank in catering to the credit needs of MSME entrepreneurs in general and women entrepreneurs in particular. Sh. Bajpai discussed about various MSME schemes of the Bank with special emphasis on General Credit Card i.e. schemes to finance individuals from non- farm sector for entrepreneurial activities upto a credit limit of 10 lakhs, which is highly useful for micro entrepreneurs. He further informed that the Bank is also extending loan facility under Trade Related Entrepreneurship Assistance and Development (TREAD) Scheme operated by Govt. Of India, MoMSME, to NGOs for on-lending to women, for setting up small and micro enterprises in the non-farm sector. Sh. Jain discussed about Bank’s initiative of providing various concessions to women entrepreneurs & training to entrepreneurs through our RSETIs. He also spoke about women centric schemes e.g. PNB Kalyani Card & PNB Ladli, through which women entrepreneurs can get benefitted for their credit requirements.

The Chief Guest Shri M P Singh, Additional Development Commissioner in the Ministry of MSME said there is a strong need to create a platform where women can harness this unique talent for their development and growth which in turn contributes to the nation’s success. Association of MSME with COWE has been beneficial as they share similar objectives of catering to target segment at the ground level.
