LPG Price Hike: Domestic Cylinders Up ₹60, Commercial Up ₹114.5

Centre Unveils LPG Allocation Formula to Support Industries During Crisis

New Delhi, March 07: State-run oil marketing companies have increased the prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders amid rising global energy prices linked to escalating tensions in the Middle East.

According to Indian Oil Corporation, the price of a 14.2-kg non-subsidised domestic LPG cylinder has been raised by ₹60 to ₹913 in New Delhi, up from ₹853 earlier. This marks the second hike in household LPG prices in less than a year.

Commercial LPG cylinders, widely used by hotels, restaurants and other businesses, have also become costlier by ₹114.5 per cylinder, reflecting volatility in global energy markets.

Industry officials said the price increase follows a surge in global energy prices triggered by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has heightened concerns over supply stability across key oil and gas shipping routes.

Despite the price hike, public sector oil marketing companies have reassured consumers about the availability of fuels. Both Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) recently dismissed social media reports of petrol and diesel shortages as “baseless”.

BPCL said India’s energy supply remains stable with ample petroleum reserves and uninterrupted supply chains, adding that the company is fully operational and ensuring smooth fuel distribution.
