Good work by CISF at IGI Airport, New Delhi and Delhi Metro

  1. CISF nabbed a passenger with six (06) gold coins worth approximate INR_02 lakh at IGI Airport, New Delhi: On 26.07.2021 at about 0823 hrs, while conducting frisking of a passenger at domestic Security Hold Area (SHA) of Terminal-3, IGI Airport, Sub-Inspector Raju of CISF detected six (06) gold coins wrapped with cello tape concealed under the socks. The weight of the recovered coins was about 40 gms, worth approximate INR 02 lakh. The passenger was later identified as Mr Jahabar Sadik Arif Maraikar, Passport No. R7674185 (Indian), arrived from Paris by Air India flight No.AI-142 (STA-0430 hrs) and further bound for Chennai by Air India flight No.AI-429 (STD-0945 hrs). On enquiry, the passenger could not produce any valid document. The matter was informed to senior officers of CISF & Custom Officials. Later, on arrival of Customs Officials, the said passenger along with recovered gold coins worth INR 02 lakh was handed over to them for further action in the matter.

CISF personnel restored the bag containing cash INR 90,000/- to the rightful owner at Dwarka Sec-21, Metro Station (DAMEL Line): On 27.07.2021 at about 1035 hrs, Sub-Inspector Rahul Panday of CISF who was deployed at Dwarka Sec-21, metro station, noticed an unclaimed bag lying at the output roller of X-BIS machine. He asked the nearby passenger, but no one came forward to claim the bag. Immediately, the bag was checked from security point of view. After ascertaining that there was no dangerous/hazardous item inside the bag, it was opened. On opening the bag, cash amounting to INR 90,000/- & other valuables was found inside the bag. Thereafter, the bag along with cash & valuables was deposited with the Station Controller. An announcement was also made at the station/nearby stations in this regard.

After some time, a male passenger who identified himself as Sagar Aahuja, aged about-29 yrs, R/O Vikaspuri, Delhi, came at metro station and claimed the bag. He also informed that he forgot to collect his bag after putting the same for x-ray screening. Thereafter, he was brought to Station Controller Room where after due verification, the bag along-with cash & valuables was handed over to him. After getting his bag containing cash amounting to Rs 90,000/- and valuables intact, he thanked CISF and appreciated the honesty displayed by CISF personnel.
