FICCI meet with French firms in India, officials Monday


New Delhi, March 23 Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France next month, industry chamber FICCI will hold an interactive session here between chief executives of French companies in India and government officials on Monday

A white paper on “French companies Making in India” will also be released during the session with Industrial Policy and Promotion Secretary Amitabh Kant and French Ambassador Francois Richier, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry said in a statement here.

CEOs and MDs of top French companies in India like St. Gobain, Sanofi, L’oreal and Alstom will be present during the session, it added.

Currently, over 950 French companies are present in India and employ more than 300,000 skilled local staff.

France is also one of the top foreign investors in India, with the latter receiving about $4.4 billion in FDI on this count between April 2000 and November 2014.
