Egyptian President for 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit in October 2015

06egypt_presidentCairo, August 06: The Egyptian President Andel Fattah Al-Sisi has been invited to attend the 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit scheduled to be held in October this year in New Delhi when more than a 100 leaders from the Dark Continent would descend on the capital in an expression of solidarity for India Africa deiplomatic and political relations.

The invitation was personally given by visiting Indian Minister for shipping and Transport Nitin Gadkari when he called on the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in Cairo. He handed over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s letter inviting him to visit India for the summit. President Sisi extended a warm welcome to Gadkari and underlined the importance his Government attached to the time- tested Indo-Egyptian relations.

Gadkari congratulated the leadership of President Sisi on the completion of the New Suez Canal, to be formally inaugurated today describing it as a great achievement which would further promote economic development of Egypt and the region.

Gadkari informed President Sisi that Modi was personally very keen to meet him and the 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit, would be an occasion not only for expanding regional cooperation but also for taking India-Egypt bilateral partnership to a new high.

President Sisi recalled the long history of close Indo-Egyptian relations and said that he was very impressed by recent economic developments in India which he said could be a model for other developing countries like Egypt. President Sisi hoped that there would be further closer cooperation between the two countries in various areas and reiterated his commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly nations. He told Gadkari to convey his warm greetings to Modi.
