DG CISF felicitated  CISF Athletes for exceptional performance at the Asian Games held at Hangzhou, China

New Delhi 11.10.2023 :  A ceremony  was organised at CISF HQrs, New Delhi to felicitate medal winners of CISF in the Asian Games held at Hangzhou, China and 72nd All India Police Wrestling Cluster-2023 held at Karnal (Haryana) organised  by Haryana Police under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board. Nina Singh, Incharge, DG CISF and other Senior Officers of CISF were present during the ceremony.

Smt Nina Singh, Incharge, DG CISF, extended heartfelt congratulations to exceptional athletes, Kishore Kumar Jena and Ms. Akshima for their remarkable achievements in the prestigious Asian Games held at China. Both athletes showcased exemplary skills and dedication, bringing glory to the nation.

Kishore Kumar Jena, a prominent javelin thrower, secured a remarkable silver medal in the highly competitive Javelin Throw event by throwing Javelin to 87.54 meters. He also qualified for Olympics-2024 to be organised at Paris (France). His incredible performance and unwavering spirit have made the CISF and the nation immensely proud.

Ms. Akshima, a true champion in the sport of Kabaddi, emerged victorious with a gold medal in the Women’s Kabaddi competition. Her exceptional athleticism and leadership qualities played a pivotal role in India’s success at the Games.

The exceptional sportspersons of CISF won 15 Gold Medals, 11 Silver Medals and 13 Bronze Medals thereby taking the tally to total 62 medals in the 72nd All India Police Wrestling Cluster-2023 held at Karnal (Haryana) by Haryana Police. DG CISF also felicitated all the medal winners.

Smt Nina Singh, Incharge, DG CISF applauded Kishore Kumar Jena, Ms. Akshimaand other sportspersons for their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship. In her address, she said that, these exceptional athletes and sportspersons  have demonstrated the highest level of dedication and excellence in their respective sports. In the recognition of their extraordinary efforts, Smt Nina Singh, Incharge, DG CISF awarded cash reward of Rs.5,00,000/- to  Ms Akshima, cash reward of  Rs.4,00,000/- to Kishore Kumar Jena and suitable cash reward to the sportspersons who won medal in Wrestling Cluster-2023.

CISF remains committed to promoting and encouraging the talents of its personnel, not only in the line of duty but also in the field of sports and athletics. These achievements are a testament to the CISF’s commitment for nurturing and recognizing talent within the organization.
