New Delhi, March 01 The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Wednesday apprised of a pact signed by India and Fiji on cooperation in renewable energy, the government said.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on May 24, 2017, at Suva in Fiji for the exchange of expertise and networking of information on the matter.
Officials informed the Cabinet that the MoU will help strengthen bilateral cooperation.
“Both sides aim to establish the basis for a cooperative institutional relationship to encourage and promote technical bilateral cooperation on new and renewable issues on the basis of mutual benefit equality and reciprocity,” an official statement said.
The MoU envisages establishing a Joint Working Committee to review, monitor and discuss matters relation to areas of cooperation.
