IndiGo Releases Delhi Travel Advisory Amid Bad Weather Forecast

New Delhi, May 23: IndiGo on Saturday issued a travel advisory for passengers flying to and from Delhi, cautioning that adverse weather conditions could impact flight schedules in the national capital.

The airline said thunderstorms and rainfall forecast over Delhi may temporarily affect flight departures and arrivals, although operational teams are working to minimise disruptions.

Taking to social media platform X, IndiGo said airport and airline staff had initiated advance preparations to manage the impact of weather-related challenges on flight operations.

“With thunderstorms and rain expected to pass over Delhi, departures and arrivals may be impacted. While our teams are preparing well in advance to keep things running smoothly, the weather may slow things down a touch,” the airline said.

IndiGo advised passengers to verify their flight status through the airline’s website or mobile application before leaving for the airport.

The carrier also urged travellers to factor in additional travel time, citing the possibility of traffic congestion and waterlogging in parts of the city due to rainfall.

“If you’re travelling today, we recommend checking your flight status on our website or app before heading out,” the airline added.

The latest advisory follows a similar weather alert issued by IndiGo on Friday for passengers travelling to and from Mumbai amid forecasts of heavy rainfall.

At the time, the airline had advised travellers to leave for the airport earlier than usual and closely monitor traffic conditions and flight updates.

Weather-related disruptions have affected IndiGo’s operations on several occasions this month.

Earlier in May, an IndiGo flight operating from Kolkata to Patna was diverted to Lucknow after adverse weather conditions prevented landing at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna.
