New Delhi, April 23: NTPC Limited’s Bongaigaon unit marked World Earth Day with a plantation drive under the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible operations.
The initiative, organised by the Environment Management Group (EMG), was inaugurated by Arnab Maitra, who planted saplings in the presence of senior officials and कर्मचारियों from multiple departments.
As part of the drive, over 30 saplings—including fruit-bearing and native species—were planted across the township and plant परिसर, contributing to biodiversity conservation and greener infrastructure development.
Addressing participants, Maitra emphasised the importance of collective action in tackling climate change and preserving ecosystems. He also highlighted the role of employee engagement in promoting sustainable practices across operations and daily life.
The initiative reflects NTPC’s broader environmental stewardship strategy, integrating sustainability into operational frameworks while encouraging community and workforce participation in ecological conservation efforts.
