Neyveli, March 09: NLC India Limited observed National Safety Month 2026 at its Corporate Office on March 7, reinforcing its commitment to workplace and community safety.
The nationwide campaign, which begins every year on March 4 to mark the foundation day of the National Safety Council, is being held this year under the theme “Engage, Educate and Empower People to Enhance Safety.”
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the Safety Flag by Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited, at the corporate office lawn, symbolising the organisation’s commitment to safety, health and environmental protection across its operations.
Earlier, Hemant Kumar, Executive Director (Safety), delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of continuous safety awareness and employee participation in ensuring a safe working environment.
During the event, employees took the Safety Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to safety at the workplace and in daily life. The pledge was administered in Tamil, Hindi and English by senior officials including the Chief Vigilance Officer and the Director (Mines).
In his address, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli emphasised the need for proactive safety practices, strict adherence to safety protocols and enhanced employee awareness to strengthen the organisation’s safety culture.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by M. Subramanian, Chief General Manager, Corporate Safety.
