New Delhi, Dec 30: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced significant initiatives for Uttarakhand, including a Rs 100 crore Clean Plant Programme and Rs 1700 crore for rural road development.
At a farmers’ conference in Gauchar, he outlined the plan to establish a Clean Plant Centre at ICAR-CITH Mukteshwar for producing disease-free saplings and a Centre of Excellence for kiwi cultivation, aiming to enhance the state’s agricultural output.
Chouhan introduced an integrated farming model designed for small landholders to boost income and emphasized a five-year agricultural roadmap will be developed in collaboration with local stakeholders. He highlighted compensation of over Rs 65 crore for crop damages and launched the VB–G RAM G scheme for guaranteed rural employment and transparency.
Additionally, he noted that 43,000 women have become millionaires this year through the Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan.
