Pralhad Joshi Unveils ₹100 Crore Plan for Biomass-Based Hydrogen Projects

New Delhi, Nov 12: The Indian government announced a Rs 100 crore scheme for pilot projects aimed at developing green hydrogen production technologies from biomass and waste.

The initiative, part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), is designed to foster industry and research participation through BIRAC. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi emphasized India’s commitment to clean energy, highlighting the NGHM’s role in decarbonizing sectors and enhancing energy independence.

He also launched the NGHM logo at the International Conference on Green Hydrogen, signifying public engagement in India’s green transition. Key milestones include incentives for electrolyser manufacturing, the world’s lowest green ammonia price, and substantial investments in green technologies and infrastructure. India aims for a renewable capacity of 500 GW by 2030.
