NLC India Limited has disbursed the cheques for a value of Rs.3.96 crore as enhanced compensation to 65 Project Affected Persons who had given their lands to the company’s projects, at the Lok Adalat session held at Neyveli on 27-08-2021.
With respect to the demand for higher compensation for lands acquired by NLCIL after 01.01.2014, an agreement was reached between NLCIL and Land Evictees, in the presence of Lok Adalat Forum. Initially an amount of Rs. 5.00/6.00 lakhs per acre was distributed as compensation and now an enhanced compensation to the tune of Rs.15 lakhs per acre, inclusive of already paid compensation, was paid to the Project Affected Persons through Lok Adalat.
One such Lok Adalat session was convened on 27.08.2021 in which 65 Project Affected Persons received cheques for a total value of Rs.3,96,26,173 as enhanced compensation for surrendering their 52.45 acres of land to the company
The Lok Adalat session was organized by NLCIL at Learning and Development Centre, Block-20, Neyveli and the cheques were distributed to the beneficiaries by the Retired District Judge S.Natarajan and Neyveli Sub court Judge M. Sadiq Basha.
M. Lakshmi Kantha Rao, Chief General Manager, S. Vivekanandan, Deputy General Manager from Land Department of NLCIL, Officials from Revenue Department of Government of Tamilnadu and NLCIL participated in the event.
