“Changing times affecting all age groups, not just the youngsters”: Says Kaartik Gupta, Clinical Psychologist at AKGsOVIHAMS

The past week (8^th – 13^th October) was celebrated as World Mental Health Week at all AKGsOVIHAMS Medical Centres. As part of this initiative, psychological services like Psychological Consultation, Counselling, Psychotherapy and Psychological Assessments were provided at 50% discount to all patients by Kaartik Gupta, Consultant Clinical Psychologist at AKGsOVIHAMS. Patients belonging to different age groups availed these services and benefitted from professional help for their issues. The theme for this year’s World Mental Health Day was – “Young people and Mental Health in a Changing World”. Kaartik Gupta suggested that today’s youngsters are facing serious challenges due to various factors like – competition, over-abundance of available information, social media and pressures related to its use, etc. The changing social structure is a major challenge not just to the youngsters but also to our society at large as we are somewhere in the transition phase and thus vulnerable for getting affected easily.

Depression, Anxiety issues, Relationship issues , OCD and Substance Abuse were some of the most common problems for which patients sought consultation during the World Mental Health Week at AKGsOVIHAMS. In addition to psychological intervention, homoeopathic medicines are also very effective in treating psychological problems and patients receiving a combination of these are responding really well at our centres.

21^st October also marks the 1^st Anniversary of our AKGsOVIHAMS Medical Centre at Pitampura. To mark the occasion and also to celebrate World Iodine Deficiency Day, AKGsOVIHAMS in association with Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) will be organising a seminar and free camp on 22^nd October, 2018 at IIMC from 10 am -1 pm. Our team of professionals, comprising of Homoeopathic Consultants, Clinical Psychologist and Pathologists will be offering their insights about Iodine deficiency disorders and their management. In addition to this, free lab investigations will also be offered as part of this camp at IIMC.
