A key highlight of the visit was INS Sudarshini’s participation in the International Naval Review 250 and SAIL 4th 250 celebrations, organised to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence. During the spectacular Parade of Sail, the indigenously built three-masted barque sailed past the Statue of Liberty and along the Hudson River, proudly flying the Indian National Flag alongside naval vessels and tall ships from around the world.

The ship also hosted several distinguished guests, including Consul General of India in New York Binaya Srikanta Pradhan and India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Parvathaneni Harish. They interacted with the crew and appreciated the vessel’s role in promoting maritime cooperation, cultural diplomacy and stronger people-to-people ties between India and the United States. A State Dinner held on board brought together senior diplomats, military officials and distinguished guests, further strengthening the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
Following the successful completion of its New York engagements, INS Sudarshini departed for Boston, where it will participate in the upcoming Sail Boston 2026 celebrations.
