New Delhi, Dec 06: BHEL-Electronics Division(EDN), Bangalore has been awarded the esteemed Platinum recognition in the Confederation of Indian Industries’ CII-Exim Bank Award for Business Excellence-2023. This Award was received by EDN team represented by Shyam Babu, Executive Director of BHEL-EDN, Saravanan G (HOD-Quality), Smt. B Savitha (Addl. GM-Quality) & B Janardhana Rao, (Manager-Quality) in presence of Jai Prakash Srivastava, Director (E, R & D & Finance- Addl.Charge), BHEL & BHEL Corporate Quality Team at the 31st CII-Excellence Summit held at Taj, Yeshwanthpur, on December 3, 2023.
This distinguished recognition was conferred based on a thorough assessment conducted by a team of six assessors from various industries, as assigned by CII.
During the assessment process, various functional groups of the unit showcased their initiatives for business excellence. A comprehensive assessment was carried out by the expert team of six CII assessors by visiting different manufacturing shops at Electronics Division (EDN) and the Electronics Systems Division (ESD) and various CSR sites including the adopted Primary Schools at DoddaGollarahatti, NagadevanaHalli, Bengaluru, and Byragi Colony, near Bidadi (Wonderla), Bengaluru.
Furthermore, the assessment specifically emphasised on evaluating the unit’s distinctive and sustainable business practices, along with its CSR activities. Notably, in 2022, EDN received the prestigious Gold Plus commendation, and in 2023, BHEL-Electronics Division (EDN) has been elevated to the Platinum level under the CII-Exim Bank Awards for Business Excellence.
