Efforts for water conservation and promotion are necessary so that drinking water can be made available to agriculture, industrial areas and the general public throughout the year.

People working in this direction are true Jal Praharis. This view was expressed by Savitri Pule Pune University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Suresh Gosavi at the nomination launch program of Jal Prahari Samaroh 2024.

Professor Gosavi has appealed to the entire country including Maharashtra that the water protectors who have brought water into the womb of Mother Earth during and before the monsoon deserve congratulations and respect and the platform of Jal Prahari Samaroh is only for such distinguished people.

Prof. Gosavi, while announcing partnership with Sarkaritel.com / Jal Prahari, Climate Adaptation Project, said that Savitribai Phule Vidyapeeth will connect its nearly five and a half lakh students with this campaign and spread the message of water conservation and climate conservation to its other campuses in Maharashtra and the world.

Welcoming all the Jal Praharis including Vinod Bodhankar, Narendra Chugh, the convener of Jal Prahari, Anil Singh said that while the environment department of the Vidyapeeth is conducting environmental activities in the university, the efforts of the department for water conservation are also exemplary.

Addressing the children on this occasion, he said that the entire responsibility of not having a water crisis in the future lies on the coming generation and you people should fulfill this responsibility and start efforts from today itself to keep every water source alive for water conservation promotion. He told that Jal Prahari Samaroh will be organized in the month of October at Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi where water protectors from all over the country will present the details of their work and they will be awarded the prestigious Jal Prahari Samman on behalf of the entire nation. Many central ministers, officials and foreign ambassadors of the Government of India are invited to the program.

Income Tax Commissioner Nitin Baghmode told how water tankers are not used in hundreds of villages of Satara district. Water conservation works have brought positive results.

On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Sarkaritel.com Ameya Sathaye also appealed to the children and said that students have played an important role in environmental and water revolution in many countries of the world and students should come forward in the work of Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam or water conservation.

Professor Raymond Durai Swami and Dr. Sanjay Kale of the University present in the program gave information about the activities of the university, while all the eminent people also planted trees under the series Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
