New Delhi, July 28: The Central Government has launched a new ‘Reform’ module on the PMRef (Prime Minister’s References/Reforms) portal as part of a nationwide initiative to accelerate reforms that improve Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business. The newly operational digital platform will serve as a central repository where all Ministries and Departments will upload details of policy reforms, governance initiatives and administrative measures undertaken in their respective sectors. The move is aimed at institutionalising the reform process and ensuring timely monitoring of government initiatives.
Under the new directions, every ministry has been asked to identify reforms that simplify procedures, reduce compliance burdens, improve public service delivery and strengthen the overall business environment. The proposed reforms may be based on recommendations of the High-Level Committee (HLC), suggestions made by the Informal Group of Ministers (IGoM), or initiatives identified internally by individual ministries. The government has made it mandatory for ministries to upload details of all reform measures on the PMRef portal and keep their implementation status updated on a regular basis.
To ensure greater accountability and continuous monitoring, all ministries and departments have been instructed to submit weekly progress reports every Friday by 12 pm, beginning this week. The structured reporting mechanism is expected to improve transparency, facilitate timely reviews and accelerate the implementation of reforms across sectors.
