Assam is rapidly strengthening its digital governance ecosystem as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Seva Setu platform has become one of the state’s largest digital public service delivery initiatives. The platform now offers more than 800 government services online, making governance faster, transparent, and citizen-centric.

Sharing the progress on social media, the Chief Minister said over 1.5 crore services have already been delivered through Seva Setu. He described the initiative as a major milestone in improving the ease of living by enabling citizens to access government services digitally without repeatedly visiting government offices.

The Seva Setu portal has integrated 47 government departments along with three Autonomous Sixth Schedule Councils, creating a single digital platform for a wide range of public services. According to the state government, the portal has achieved a service disposal rate exceeding 90 per cent, reflecting greater efficiency in service delivery.

The platform has also strengthened citizen grievance redressal. More than 94,000 public grievances have been resolved through the portal, with an overall grievance resolution rate of 86 per cent, improving accountability and responsiveness in government administration.

To enhance digital convenience, Seva Setu has been integrated with DigiLocker, allowing citizens to securely access and store official documents online. The services are also available through the UMANG mobile application, enabling users to access government services directly from their smartphones.

The Chief Minister said the initiative supports the Digital India vision by making governance more accessible, transparent and technology-driven. The update was shared as part of the celebrations marking 11 years of the Digital India programme, highlighting Assam’s continued focus on digital transformation.
