The distribution event was graced by Rupali Sinha, President, Vasudha Mahila Mandal, ER-II, who handed over the training kits, including essential workwear, to the participants.Sinha was joined by Kasturi Maitra, President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon, Soumya Kar, Vice President, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, Jhumita Biswas, Senior Member, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club along with Onkar Nath, Head of HR, NTPC Bongaigaon, and the CSR team. The initiative aims to train 30 women from local villages in skill-based trades that utilize locally available, eco-friendly materials. Participants will receive structured training aligned with NCVET guidelines, focusing on product development, financial literacy, and market linkages to transform their skills into sustainable business ventures.
Speaking at the occasion, Kasturi Maitra encouraged the women to dedicate themselves to the training, emphasizing that such initiatives play a crucial role in fostering economic self-sufficiency and community development. Onkar Nath reiterated NTPC’s commitment to supporting the trainees through continuous mentorship, business training, and access to financial resources. Through this initiative, NTPC Bongaigaon reaffirms its role in empowering rural women by equipping them with the skills and resources needed to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to the local economy.
