New Delhi, April 07: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, hassigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NBCC (India) Ltd., a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, for strategic collaborationinthe development and execution of Data Centre projects both in India and abroad.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Sanjai Kumar, CMD/RailTel, K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD/NBCC, Raj Kumar Chaudhary CMD NHPC, Dr. DeveshTyagi CEO NIXI, Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, IPS, Addl. CP Delhi, Rajeev Ranjan RetdIAS(TN)and senior officials from their organization.
Under the terms of the MoU, RailTel and NBCC will work jointly to execute Data Centreprojects from concept to commissioning, combining their core competencies andoperational strengths.
RailTel will be responsible for planning, designing, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operations & maintenance of IT-relatedinfrastructure for Data Centres, including computing hardware, security systems, network systems, disaster recovery planning, and more. NBCC will providecomprehensive project management services for the construction of Data Centrebuildings and associated civil and passive infrastructure.
This includes contract management, construction supervision, cost control, quality assurance, andproject
handover activities. The collaboration also envisions joint development of IT and IT-enabled service (ITES)infrastructure projects in international markets including, but not limited to, Vietnam, Mauritius, UAE, and African countries.
Each project will be governed by a separateagreement and executed with mutual consent, allowing for inclusion of third-partypartners where necessary. This MoU establishes a strategic framework for cooperation, enablingbothorganizations to leverage each other’s strengths for shared growth and innovationinthe fast-evolving digital infrastructure domain.
