MRPL celebrated the 132nd Birth Anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar on 14th April 2023 at the MRPL Employees Recreation Center with fervor.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Dr Ashalatha P, Lecturer, University College Mangalore, said,”He was a leader of humanitarian society, and he was the first proponent of women’s status as an indicator of economic progress”. As a scholar of Baba Saheb’s life and work, she delved into detail about his influence on various spheres of Indian society and his relevance as a nation-builder. She added that “entire Indian society’s economic, social and educational progress has his imprint upon it”.
Presiding over the event, Shri Ganesh Bhat, IFS the Chief Vigilance Officer of MRPL, spoke about the social situations of Baba Saheb’s times, and he spoke eloquently about the role Dr Ambedkar played for the social, economic and political upliftment of Indian society.
Shri Sathyanarayana HC, GGM TS, Shri Krishna Hegde, GGM-HRand Shri YogishNayak S, GGM – I/C Finance and CFO were present on the occasion and shared their thoughts.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of various contests. Employees of MRPL also presented a Drama based on Dr B R Ambedkar’s life, which was appreciated by all.
Dr Manjunath HV, GM (Admin) Welcomed, Shri Patrick Minz GM (HR) proposed the vote of thanks, and Dr Rudolph Noronha GM (CC) read out the messages from the dignitaries. Shri Naveen Naik compered, and Ms Yashaswinichanted the invocation. Shri Rakesh KM, President and office bearers of MSSEWA were present on the occasion. Earlier in the day, the floral tributes were paid tothe great leader by the Top Management officials and the MSSEWA office bearers.
