- HOMOEOPATHY USEFUL AS COMPIMENTRY TREATMENT IN CANCER PATIENTS Said Dr.A.K.Gupta, President HMAI Delhi
A CME on “Holistic Approach Towards Cancer Care: Abridging The Gaps With Homoeopathy” was held at Venketeshwar Hospital ,Dwarka on 23rd sept.2018.
This joint CME on Holistic Approach Towards Cancer Care was a step towards the better understanding of Cancer, Holistic Management and Cross referral system was jointly organised by the Homoeopathic Medical Association of India, Delhi and Alumni of Sur Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital informed Dr.A.K.Gupta, President HMAI,Delhi .
The CME witnessed the deliberate discussions on Cancer, its diagnosis, prognosis, referral and management by Dr Kuldeep Sharma( Radio Oncologist)and Dr Arun Giri (Surgeon Oncologist), Venkateshwar Hospital, Dwarka.
Followed this there was a Panel & Open House Discussion on abridging the gaps with Homeopathy by a Panelist of Senior Homeopathic Physician from Delhi Dr.Prof.A.K.Gupta ; Dr. Neeraj Pasricha , Dr. Sandeep Kaila, Dr. Mayur Jain & Dr. Saurav Arora and active participation from the participant doctors.
This CME was also important from upgradation of Homeopathy point of view. For the first time ever, in New Delhi, we are happy to announce to start the CME POINTS to attend the CMEs. These points indicate a better step towards our professional development said Dr.Sauarav Arora.
Dr. Kuldeep Sharma in his deliberation said that cases of cancer are increasing at an alarming rate.
Patients must not ignore the symptoms such as \
Lumps
Hoarseness of Voice which does not subside
Difficulty in swallowing
Change in Wartor Mole
Changes in Bowel or Bladder habits
Unexplained Bleeding or Discharges
Non Healing Ulcers
He further mentioned the Treatment based on the stage of cancerherapy
I – Surgery. If not a candidate for surgery then Radiation Therapy
II- Surgery with Chemotherapy before or after. If no surgery then Radiation & Chemotherapy.
III – Combination of Sugery, Chemotherapy and/or Radiation
IV- Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy (as a form of Pallaitive treatment) to relieve pain or other symptoms affecting quality of life.
Dr Mayur Jain touched upon all the aspects of problems faced by a Cancer Patient during and after the conventional treatment for cancer like, Surgery, Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy like Nausea Vomitings, Pains, Hair Fall, Anxiety ,Debility, Diarrhoea , Constipation etc.. He elaborated the use of Homoeopathic remedies with specific symptoms.
Followed this there was a Panel discussion and open house interaction. Dr A.K.Gupta, Dr. Neeraj Pasricha and Dr Sandeep Kaila were the Panelists . Dr Saurav Arora moderated the session . He apprised of some research studies conducted at various countries where it has established that Cancer patients if taking Homoeopathic medicines suffer much less problems and complications then the ones who did not take homoeopathic medicines during or after the conventional cancer treatment.
Dr. Gupta said that the Potency of the Homoeopathic remedy should be determined on the susceptibility of the patient suffering from cancer.
Dr. Kaila said that he did not get good results with very low potency like 3,6 , 30 etc.
Dr.Pasricha said that he uses low potencies with good results.
Dr.Giri said that one should not get carried away by Tumour markers only for diagnosis, instead Biopsy , Scan or MRI findings should be more resalable.
Dr.Gupta mentioned that there is a very thin line which is very important for the Homoeopathic Physician to know that where a line should be drawn for the referral either for surgery , Chemo or Radiation.
Dr.Kuldeep Sharma was impressed to know about the range of Homoeopathic remedies to tackle various problems of cancer patients being treated Pre and Post conventional treatment with the remedy having typical Symptomatogy. He also emphasised that now we all should keep an open mind and work in conjunction for the betterment of patient’s health care.
