Indian Railway has taken Immediate initiative for evacuation of stranded tourists from Katra

Udhampur, April 24 Indian Railways have taken initiatives during on hand crisis in Jammu and Kashmir due to Pahalgam Terror Attack.

1. Providing Helpdesks at Katra and Jammu stations and crowd management room at Jammu control having CCTV feed from Jammu and Katra along with dedicated helpline Nos.
2. helpdesk staff at Jammu and Katra accommodated 235 tourists in various different trains.
3. On very short notice one spaecial train no. 04612 spcl ex SVDK for NDLS planned and maintained and run. Train departed SVDK at 21:20 and JAT at 23:27 with almost 67% occupation containing around 580 reserved pssgrs and around 180 unreserved pssgrs.
4. Provision of food/water at Katra , MCTM and Jammu stn by in close coordination with IRCTC, and RPF/GRP.
5. Another spcl 04614 has been notified to depart SVDK at 13.30 hrs of 24.4.25.
