37 Water Conservators from across the country to get Jal Prahari Samman

New Delhi, 16 December : 37 water protectors from across the country have been selected for the 5th Jal Prahari Samman. Jal Prahari Samman for water conservation and promotion will be given in a program organized on Wednesday at New Maharashtra Sadan in the capital. Amity School Pushp Vihar has been selected for Jal Prahari from Delhi, while many District Magistrates of Uttar Pradesh including DM of Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar will also be awarded for protecting water sources in the state, creating new water sources and reviving ponds and rivers. In view of the work done in the direction of water conservation and management in the state, Uttar Pradesh has been given the status of partner state this year.

Giving this information on Sunday, the convener of the organizing committee Anil Singh said that this year the jury constituted for the Jal Prahari Samman is headed by Justice Sangeeta Dhingra Sehgal, while other members include experts from various fields including NITI Aayog, National Water Mission (Ministry of Water Power). This year, projects based on the concept of water conservation and public participation have been given priority in selection by the jury.

Water Power Minister CR Patil, Union Minister of State for Water Rajbhushan Chaudhary, Member of Parliamentary Water Resources Affairs MP Balayogi Umeshkant, MP PC Sarangi etc. are special guests as the chief guests in the program. Giving this information, CEO of Sarkari Tel Ameya Sathe said that ambassadors of many countries will also participate in the Jal Prahari Samman ceremony.
