New Delhi, Oct 22: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Saturday approved the appointment of seven secretary-level bureaucrats, including new Secretaries for four Union Ministries.
IAS officer of West Bengal cadre (1990 batch) Subrata Gupta was appointed Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, to take over from the present secretary, Anita Praveen, who will retire on November 30.
Tanmay Kumar, an IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, 1993 batch, was appointed Environment, Forest and Climate Change Secretary, to replace the present secretary Leena Nandan, who is set to retire on December 31. V.
Umashankar, an IAS officer of Haryana cadre, 1993 batch, was appointed Road Transport and Highways Secretary. IAS officer of AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory) cadre, 1993 batch, Vikram Dev Dutt was appointed Coal Secretary.
