REC to support learning camps for 8400 primary school children


New Delhi, Nov 19 : REC, a Government of India Navratnaenterprise, signed anMoA with Pratham Education Foundation, a leading non-government organisation working in the area of children’s education, for implementing a one-year programme for conducting learning camps in 120 government schools or communities in SaughatBlock of district Basti and KatehariBlock in Ambedkar Nagar, UP, under its CSR initiatives, with the aim of enhancing the basic reading and maths learning levels of about 8400 primary school children.The project seeks to engage the parents, community, school teachers and education officials to forge a sustainable partnership for the childrens’ learning.

The MoA was signed by A. K. Agarwal, Director (Finance), REC, and Shailendra Sharma, Head Operations, Pratham, in New Delhi, on 17th November 2014, in presence of Rakesh K. Arora, Executive Director, REC, SanjeevGarg, Executive Director, REC, besides other senior officials of REC and Pratham.
