REC Inaugurates Delhi centre under ‘Abhayanand Super 30’ initiative


New Delhi, July 10 : Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC), A Govt. of India Navratna Enterprise, committed further financial assistance to Centre for Social Responsibility and Learning (CSRL)   under CSR initiative to provide free one-year residential coaching and mentoring programme to further 45 students for admission into IITs, NITs and other engineering colleges to enable them to shape bright and successful career.

This support is being funded by REC after the recent success of the CSR assisted programme of providing coaching of 20 students, including girl students, largely from underprivileged and rural background under ‘Abhayanand Super 30’ initiative during 2013-14. Under this initiative, 16 out of 20 students supported by REC qualified in IIT Mains,  4 competed successfully in IIT Advanced, out of which one student achieved the all-India First rank in the Physically Handicapped category,  8 students targeting admission to  NITs and rest in other reputed engineering colleges of the country.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in this regard was executed between REC and Centre for Social Responsibility and Learning (CSRL) in New Delhi recently for supporting 45 under privileged students including 25 under ‘National Super 100’ and 20 under ‘ Kashmir Super 30’.

The Delhi Centre for coaching of 25 underprivileged students for admission to IITs, NITs, and other Engineering Colleges under ‘National Super 100’ initiative was inaugurated by Rajeev Sharma, CMD, REC in the presence of other senior officials of REC and CSRL team
