PM dedicates the 765 kV S/c Ranchi –Dharamjaygarh – Sipat transmission line


RANCHI : Prime Minister, Narendra Modi dedicated the 765 kV S/c Ranchi –Dharamjaygarh – Sipat transmission line of POWERGRID to the Nation and commence of work of North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project of NTPC, in Jharkhand in presence of Governor, Dr. Syed Ahmed, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal and Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal, Minster of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sudarshan Bhagat, Member of Parliament, Ram Tahal Choudhary. This line is part of transmission scheme associated with DVC generation projects to evacuate/transfer power from Eastern Region to Western part of India. This line is the first 765kV inter-regional link between Eastern Region and Western Region.

Addressing to the masses in Ranchi, PM said that the transmission line is an important high capacity link to wheel power from Eastern Region to Western Region and also help in economic dispatch of power throughout the country. The proposed North Karanpura Generation Project will provide reliable supply of electricity to Jharkhand State. These projects link will boost the economic development of Jharkhand State and bring remarkable changes in lives of the common people of the State .as well as the nation. The PM emphasised that Jharkhand State has tremendous potential for generation of power and the Government of India will provide all the help in this direction.

Minister of State for Power (Independent Charge), Government of India, Shri Piyush Goyal welcomed the dignitaries and said that the 765 kV S/c Ranchi –Dharamjaygarh – Sipat transmission line will not only secure and strengthen the national grid but also improve reliable power supply especially to the State of Jharkhand. The upcoming North Karanpura Project of NTPC will boost the availability of power in Jharkhand. The Minister emphasised that the Govt.of India’s ultimate goal is to provide 24×7 power supply to all citizens of the country and making it available to end users at affordable rate.

On this occasion Hon’ble Chier Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Hemant Soren also addressed the gathering and hoped that these projects will help in the development of Jharkhand and also the Nation.

The project will augment inter-regional capacity of Eastern Region with Western Region thereby facilitating exchange of surplus power between Eastern Region and Western Region, depending on the availability of generation and load demand in each Region. It will help in economic dispatch of power to Western Region for onward transfer to Southern Region/Northern Region.

During the occasion, Besides these power projects, the PM also dedicated Jasidih Oil Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation and laid foundation stone of New Incubation Facility at Ranchi Centre of Software Technology Parks of India, Ranch Centre of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology and Launch of National Digital Literary Mission.
