As a part of the “Clean India Fortnight” Celebrations, the Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) cell of NLCIL organised personal hygiene awareness programme for women and girl students in schools of villages around Neyveli yesterday (16.08.2017) and today (17.08.2017).
In the villages of Sorathur, Perperiyankuppam and Marungur, the programme was organized in association with the members of the Neyveli Chapter of the Women in Public Sector (WIPS) , People Service Group (PSG)of Neyveli and Ramakrishna Seva Sangam.
In Sorathur village, 200 students of the Panchayat Union Elementary School participated and interacted with Dr S.Vijayakumari, ACMO, NLCIL GH who highlighted the importance of their personal hygiene.The team of PSG enacted a short play to carry home the points about Hygine, and Cleanliness.Shri R.Mohan,CGM(CSR,SDC & Edn) was the chief guest,Shri J.Peter James,GM(CSR), Smt Mohan,Office bearers and members of WIPS, Shri Saba Rajendran participated. NLCIL gifted toiletries to the participants.
Similarly in Perperiyankuppam around 250 persons including 200 girl students of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School participated. Dr Gnana Sundari addressed them on Hygine, Cleanliness and about the environment.A rally by students lead by the Head Mistress of the School Smt Senthil Nayagi went around the village to create an awareness about maintaining a clean village and in Marungur Village the volunteers of Neyveli Ramakrishna Seva Sangam organised the event. Dr.Kavitha, Dermatologist, NLCIL , GH addresses the students of Government HSS, Marungur on personal hygiene. A rally was also organized by the school students. About 250 women and girls students benefitted.
