NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company celebrated its 43rd Raising Day on 7th  November 2017 at its Corporate Office at Faridabad with great enthusiasm and fervor.

Shri A.K.Bhalla, Secretary (Power), Government of India graced the occasion as Chief Guest.  In his address, Shri Bhalla congratulated everyone on the occasion of NHPC Raising Day and while highlighting the performance of NHPC, he commended NHPC’s contribution to the power sector and praised NHPC for working in hard and difficult conditions. While speaking on the occasion, Guest of Honour Smt. Seema Trikha, Hon’ble MLA also congratulated all the employees of the Company and lauded contribution of NHPC towards CSR activities around its locations.

Shri Balraj Joshi, CMD, NHPC extended his warmest wishes to all employees of NHPC Raising Day 2017 and highlighted the achievements of NHPC. He also spoke about the ongoing activities of the company including upcoming projects and future plans towards capacity addition. Shri N.K. Jain, Director (Personnel) proposed  vote of thanks and specially expressed gratitude and acknowledged the contributions of the retired employees of the Company for taking NHPC to a height  where it is today.

During the celebrations, winners of NHPC Awards Scheme (2016-17) under various categories as Best Power Station, Best Construction Project, Exemplary Commitment, Star of NHPC and Star student for Class X and Class XII were awarded. The winners of Quest for Excellence organized by Power HR Forum, RTI Open Book Test and Ms. A.Nalini, Deputy Manager (Finance) who has won several medals at international and national para athletic tournaments, were also felicitated for their achievements on this occasion.

The function was also graced by Smt. Shalini Prasad, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, Smt. Krishna Tyagi, Govt. Nominee Director for NHPC alongwith, Shri Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), Shri M.K. Mittal, Director (Finance) and Dr. Ved Prakash, CVO and other invited dignitaries.

The special highlight of the evening was a grand cultural programme featuring special folk song and dance performances by artists from Rajasthan, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh which showcased rich cultural heritage of the states that greatly enthralled the audience.
