Nevyeli Lignite provides additional School Building to GHSS,Puthunagar and LED lighting facility at Vallalar Deiva  Gnanasabhai  at  Vadalur  under its CSR initiatives

Neyveli, June 28 True to its spirit of extending it’s helping hand to the needy people under Corporate Social Responsibility, NLCIL is continuing its service activities in and around Neyveli. As part of this Dr.Sarat Kumar Acharya,CMD,  NLC India Limited in the presence of  Shri T.P Rajesh, District Collector, Cuddalore  and Shri R. Vikraman, Director(HR), NLCI Limited, inaugurated the additional new  school building, built under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scheme of the company, at Govt. Higher Secondary  School at Puthunagar,  Vadalur  Cuddalore District on 28.06.2017.

The additional Classroom  building  constructed at a cost of Rs. 80.2 Lakh  has a  R.C.C Framed structure of G+2 floors with each floor of plinth area of 254 Sq. Mt ( 2734.03 Sq. Ft) with dimensions of 28.45m x 8.93m (93.33’x 29.29’). The building has 9 classrooms and each classroom is provided with 1 black board, 1 steel door, cupboards for books, flooring with vitrified tiles etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Sarat Kumar Acharya said that NLCIL is contributing to the society and to the needy people in a bigger way since so many years. On the request of the District Administration, Education Department, Govt. of Tamil Nadu., NLC India has provided this school building as the organization gives prime importance to education. He said NLCIL is an organization, to create wealth for the Nation. As a trustee of the wealth, it acts as agent of social development for well being of society. He advised the students and staff to bring fame to the school by  not only achieving good results in the examinations but also to  have all round development  including cultural, ethical  values to become  good citizen  to take growth of the nation further.

He said, presently, as part of CSR NLCIL giving more importance to water augmentation to reduce the problems of water crisis in coming days in villages by de silting the water bodies in and around Neyveli in a big way. He further noted that NLCIL at present  supplying 7 Million Litre  of Water per day to ease the water problems of residents of Chennai.

Shri T.P Rajesh, District Collector, Cuddalore was full of praise for NLCIL management for its CSR initiatives being undertaken in and around the project by  giving  impetus to  Water Augmentation Projects ,Skill development programmes, Infrastructure development  Activities and health improvement facilities in its peripheral areas.

He stated that Cuddalore District administration taken a project with help of other government bodies to desilt or develop water tanks in Cuddalore District by desilting more than 7,40,000 M3 silt. NLCIL itself came forward and professionally desilting water tanks in 14 villages with a cost of Rs 3.50 Crores and also ready to develop potable water wells , with solar pumps in villages. He said till now around 390 water tanks are being cleaned.

Shri R. Vikraman, Director(HR), NLCI Limited,  Shri R.Murugan , Chief Educational Officer,Cuddalore District graced the occasion and extended their felicitations.

Shri R. Mohan,CGM/CSR, Shri J.Peter James ,GM/CSR  and senior officials of NLCIL and  Shri Thirumurugan HM , Staff  members and school children of Govt. Higher Secondary  School of  Puthunagar,  Vadalur  and villagers  participated in large numbers.

Apart from above programme, Dr. S.K. Acharya  handed over  LED Lighting Facility ,put up  with a cost of Rs.10 Lakh under NLCIL CSR initiatives  to Administration of  Thiru Arut Prakasa Vallalar Deiva  Gnanasabhai , Vadalur  by formally switching  LED lights and unveiling plaque  at  Vallalar Deiva  Gnanasabhai, Vadalur in the presence of Shri R. Vikraman, Director(HR), Shri R. Mohan,CGM/CSR.
