National Energy Conservation Painting Competition 2017– First Prize to Manipur

Under the National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation launched by the Ministry of
Power, Government of India, NHPC was allotted the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu &
Kashmir, Sikkim, Manipur & Madhya Pradesh to organize School & State Level Painting
Competition on Energy Conservation for the year 2017. NHPC successfully organised the school
and state level painting competitions in these states.

Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Hon’ble President of India presented the first prize of Rs.1.00 lakh and a
certificate to Master Y. Sameer Singh, second prize of Rs. 50,000/- and a certificate to Master
Martin Tongbram and third prize of Rs. 25,000/- to Master Daulas Lambamayum all from Manipur
for their outstanding paintings on energy conservation under Category ‘A’ in the presence of
Shri R.K. Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, New &
Renewable Energy, Shri A.K. Bhalla, Secretary (Power), Govt. of India and Shri Abhay Bakre, DG,
BEE during the National Energy Conservation Day Awards Ceremony held in Vigyan Bhavan,
New Delhi on 14.12.2017.

On this occasion, Shri R.K. Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power,
New & Renewable Energy also presented Best Nodal Officer Award in North Eastern States Category
to Shri R.C. Das, Sr. Manager (HR), Teesta-V Power Station, NHPC and Best Nodal Officer for
showing highest percentage increase in student participation over previous year to Shri Rajesh
Kumar, Manager (HR), Loktak Power
