New Delhi, Aug 23 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condoled the death of former Singapore President S.R. Nathan saying the country has lost a distinguished leader.
“Saddened by the demise of former Singapore President S.R. Nathan. Singapore has lost a distinguished leader who was widely admired,” Modi tweeted.
“We in India join the people of Singapore in deeply mourning the passing away of Nathan. Condolences to his family,” he said in another tweet.
Nathan, who was President of Singapore from 1999 to 2011, died on Monday at the age of 92.
