New Delhi, May 13 GAIl India Limited a major player in gas distribution, reported a standalone net profit of Rs 2,049 crore for the fourth quarter ending March 31, 2025.

The board declared a final dividend of Re 1 per equity share for the fiscal year 2024-2025.

Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, GAIL (India) Limited said that, the robust performance during FY25 is primarily driven by better physical & financial performance across all major segments.

Despite challenges in global economy, our company had a landmark year, reaching unprecedented financial milestones and achieving the highest-ever EBITDA, PBT and PAT in GAIL’s history.

He further stated that the Company has incurred a Capex of Rs. 10,512 Crores during the FY25.

GAIL Gas Limited (GGL), a wholly owned subsidiary of GAIL was incorporated in May 2008 for developing City Gas Distribution business as its focus area. GGL currently owns & operates 16 GAs across India. Further GAIL received PNGRB authorisation for development of CGD network in 6 GAs i.e. Varanasi, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhubaneshwar & Cuttack in March 2018.

In order to have a single entity for development of GAIL’s CGD Business and for bringing business synergy, efficiency & retail focussed business approach, the Board has recommended to transfer the 6GAs of GAIL to GGL subject to the approval of CCEA.

In terms of performance, GAIL saw its revenue from operations increase to Rs 35,707 crore in the January-March quarter, up from Rs 32,334.50 crore the previous year. EBITDA rose by 13.3%, reaching Rs 3,216 crore. Total income climbed to Rs 36,273.87 crore compared to Rs 32,972.10 crore a year earlier.

However, expenses grew to Rs 33,572.80 crore in Q4 FY25, largely due to higher stock purchases totaling Rs 28,943.92 crore. Profit before tax was reported at Rs 2,701.07 crore.

For the entire fiscal year FY25, GAIL’s net profit reached Rs 11,312.32 crore, an increase from Rs 8,836.48 crore in FY24. Annual revenue also rose, totaling Rs 1,37,287.56 crore compared to Rs 1,30,638.11 crore the year before. GAIL shares traded around Rs 184 on Tuesday, with a 2.7% increase over the last month.

Additionally, GAIL announced a consolidated net profit of Rs 4,084 crore for the October-December quarter of FY 2024-25, reflecting a 28% rise year-over-year. Revenue from operations saw a 6.23% increase, reaching Rs 36,937 crore, up from Rs 34,768 crore in the previous year.

An exceptional income of $285 million (Rs 2,440 crore) was reported for the quarter, arising from a settlement related to arbitration proceedings with an LNG supplier. This settlement involved a payment for non-supply of LNG cargoes during FY 2022-23, as detailed by Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director.

During the year, Natural gas transmission volume registered growth of 6% to 127.32 MMSCMD as against 120.46 MMSCMD in FY24. Gas marketing volume stood at 101.49 MMSCMD in FY25 as against 98.45 MMSCMD in FY24. LHC production stood at 947 TMT as against 996 TMT & Polymer production increased by 6% to 827 TMT as against 777 TMT in comparison to previous year.

During the quarter, Natural gas transmission volume stood at 120.83 MMSCMD in Q4 FY25 as against 125.93 MMSCMD in Q3 FY25. Gas marketing volume stood at 106.53 MMSCMD as against 103.46 MMSCMD in previous quarter. LHC sales stood at 198 TMT as against 282 TMT & Polymer sales jumped by 4% to 229 TMT as against 221 TMT in comparison to previous quarter.
