Deepak Srivastava at the valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week at  Neyveli


New Delhi, Nov 01: NLCIL observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 as per the directions of Central Vigilance Commission from 26.10.2021 to 01.11.2021 on the theme “Independent India@75: Self Reliance with Integrity”.

During this week number of awareness programmes to create awareness on Vigilance on the theme, especially on the use of complaint mechanism under “Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers Resolution” among various stake holders such as Employees, Contractors, Vendors, Customers, Students, General public were conducted at various locations of NLC India Limited.  Awareness was also created through Social Media, Doordarshan, Company’s Intranet and Company’s Website.  During this week, various competitions on the Vigilance Awareness theme were held inviting participation of various stake holders.  The participation of the stake holders in the competitions was impressive.

The Valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Week was held at Yegneswaran Auditorium, Learning & Development Centre, NLCIL, Neyveli on 01.11.2021 at 15.00 Hrs.

Deepak Srivastava, IFS, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Wetland Authority, Government of Tamil Nadu on our invitation participated as the Chief Guest.

Rakesh Kumar, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NLCIL presided over the function.

Jaikumar Srinivasan, Director (Finance) and Director (Planning & Projects) Additional Charge and L.Chandrasekar, IFS, Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL graced the occasion.

DigVijayakumar Singh, Dy.Inspector General/CISF and Dr.M.Shaik Abdullah, Sr. Commandant /CISF also attended the function.

The Senior Executives of NLCIL and representatives of employees participated the function.

L.Chandrasekar, IFS, Chief Vigilance Officer made a Video Presentation on various activities that were carried out during the Vigilance Awareness Week.

Award Winning Short-film and the award winning Poems received through WhatsApp were screened.  The First Prize for the National Level Short Film competition was bagged by S.SHANKAR SUNEETH from TRICHY for title “KUTRAM PURINDHAVAN”.

Rakesh Kumar, CMD in his  Presidential Address appreciated that the initiatives taken by Vigilance Branch had well impacted the Stake holders concerned, especially the young minds.  He recalled the noble services rendered by Sardar Vallabai Patel, the Iron Man of India who unified the Country and stood as an example for Integrity and Honesty in Public Life.  He called upon employees and all the Stake holders to practice Integrity at all times in all their endeavour so that the time and resources deployed in spreading Vigilance Awareness would stand justified.

Deepak Srivastava, IFS, the Chief Guest in his Valedictory address stated that for all the employees the organization and the Country shall come first.  He further stated that it is the moral duty of every citizen of the Country to make substantial contributions and to follow Integrity for the betterment of Organization they work for and also for building the Nation.  All citizens should remember if transparency, equity, rule of Law, and accountability are given importance in all their transactions, then corruption could be brought to the minimum if not eliminated.

As far as an organization is concerned, conscience and due diligence in decision making and recording the genuine justification where complexities are involved would help in a long way in establishing a fearless climate for the employees to work.  Maintaining purity shall become a priority for the Senior Management as well as the employees so that the organization progresses smoothly.  Citing from his rich experiences as CVO, he motivated all the Executives to use technology more and more as a weapon against corruption and also as an instrument that could surely deliver business efficiency.
