Maitri Ghar, in partnership with Maitri, will be a home to 100 abandoned and destitute elderly widows who will live a life of respect and dignity in the home. The Ashram will provide them essentials for life including daily midday meals, fruits, nutritional supplements, clothing and healthcare. Maitri Ghar will also serve as an Ageing Resource Centre for research in Ageing as well as be a training institute for elderly care, which will empower the widow mothers with skill building and income generation opportunities and ensure citizenship rights like Aadhar Card, voter card, pension etc and educate them how to access government-provided benefits.

Maitri, a developmental and humanitarian NGO working with vulnerable populations in India including Women with a focus on Destitute and Elderly Widows living in Vrindavan, was featured on Aamir Khan’s show, Satyamev Jayate, in July 2012 for their work with the abandoned and elderly widow mothers in Vrindavan.
