New Delhi,February 27 : Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), the country’s Central Transmission Utility and a Navratna PSU, has declared an interim dividend of 8% of share capital for the Financial Year 2011-12.

R. N. Nayak, CMD, POWERGRID handed over electronic payment remittance advice of Rs.249.02 Crore to Minister of Power Shri Sushilkumar Shinde on February 23, 2012 towards share of Ministry of Power in the interim dividend.

Minister of State for Power K. C. Venugopal, Secretary (Power), GoI and other senior officials of Ministry of Power and POWERGRID were also present on the occasion. The total interim dividend being disbursed is to the tune of Rs.370.38 Crore to about 10.13 lakh shareholders.

At present POWERGRID is operating about 90,000 ckt. kms. of transmission lines along with 145  Sub-stations with transformation capacity of more than 1,02,000 MVA. POWERGRID continues to wheel about 50% of total power generated in the country through its transmission network.
