New Delhi, Feb 16 Oil India Limited (OIL), India’s second largest National Exploration & Production Company, culminated the observance of the month long Oil and Gas Conservation Mass Awareness Campaign, ‘Saksham-2017’, under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, with a concluding functionheld on 15th February 2017 at its Corporate Office in Noida. The function was presided over by the OIL Chairman& Managing Director, Shri Utpal Bora, with Shri Hirak Dutta, former Executive Director-Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) being the guest speaker for the event.

Shri Dutta in his speech stressed upon habit formation for oil and gas conservation from the childhood itself. He also pointed out that some small measures like good driving practices and proactive actions by individuals can go a long way in conserving the scarce and vital oil & gas resources for ensuring energy security for the nation over the long run.

As part of the month long campaign, ‘Saksham -2017’, OIL conducted walkathons for mass awareness, free pollution check- up camps for vehicles, free LPG stove servicing camps, quiz competitions, etc. Moreover, a large number of students took part in essay and slogan writing competitionsorganized by OIL at the Khaitan School, Noida. The winning students from the school acrossdifferent categories of competitions were awarded by Oil India Limited at the concluding function.
