New Delhi, May 02 : NTPC has been bestowed with Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)  2012 constituted by Institute of Directors (IOD), New Delhi.  Neeraj Kapoor DGM (Resettlement & Rehabilitation  received the award on behalf of NTPC at a function held in Dubai on on 25th April, 2012.

The award was presented by Juma Al Majid, Chairman of Dubai Economic Council & Founder Chairman of Juma Al Majid Group, Lt Gen J S Ahluwalia, PVSM (retd), President, Institute of Directors and Saleh Janeeh, Chairman Dubai Quality Group.

Later Arup Roy Choudhury, CMD,NTPC; S.P.Singh, Director (HR), N.K.Sharma, ED (R&R, CSR and Safety) and senior officials of the company acknowledged the efforts of the CSR team.

NTPC, the Maharatna Company, is alive to its responsibilities as a corporate citizen since inception and its CSR efforts are appreciated and acclaimed universally. NTPC was shortlisted for this prestigious award by a jury consisting of eminent personalities and chaired by Justice P N Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India.

The award was presented among an international audience is a recognition of its efforts in the field of CSR and has further enhanced its social image in the global community.
