New Delhi, April 13 : NTPC India’s largest power generation company was Awarded SCOPE Meritorious Award 2010-11 for Corporate Social Responsibility & Responsiveness by President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil today in New Delhi.
The Gold Trophy was received by Arup Roy Choudhury CMD and S.P. Singh, Director (HR), NTPC in the presence of Praful Patel, Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises.
Speaking on the occasion Arup Roy Choudhury , CMD NTPC said CSR in NTPC is deeply ingrained belief of doing business by adding value to the community and society on a sustainable basis through dedicated policies, institutional setup and engagement process to promote inclusive growth.
NTPC is a socially responsible corporate citizen since its inception and is also a member of Global Compact , the largest voluntary initiative of UN for CSR. NTPC has prepared sustainability report covering Economic , Environmental and social aspects with the triple bottom line approach based on widely accepted Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines.
