Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar for 22 NTPC Employees

New Delhi, September 19, 2009   Twenty one employees of NTPC- Ramagundam and one employee from NTPC- Jhanor- Gandhar received the prestigious Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar (VRP) from Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Union Minister for Labour & Employment at a function in New Delhi.

The 8 employees who received the honour in A category are Kurma M. Mohanrao, Kolipaka Nagesh, Mohammad Osman , Kolani Raja Mahender Reddy, Cheeprichetty Kamalakar, Naini Malla Reddy, Sirisetty Narayana and Mandala Bhaskar Reddy.

The first group of 6 employees to receive the award in C category are P. Madhava Rao, DSV Ramana Rao, P. Madhan Mohan Rao, B. Veerabhadra Rao, K. Subba Rao, VCHA Naidu. The second group of 7 employees are K. Ramakishan Rao, R. Balaiah, KSN Raju, V. Mahender Rao, D. Rajesham, B. Purahari and Rajesh Kumar.

These awardees have contributed significantly in the areas of maintenance in Coal Transportation Merry-Go-Round System, Coal Conveyors and Ash Disposable systems. This has led to enormous savings and significant work improvements, which have been replicated in the other similar power plants.

P.B. Maisurya of NTPC, Jhanor-Gandhar has been given this prestigious award in C categary on account of implementation of a suggestion given by him related to modification of P-13 card of Steam Turbine which resulted in huge financial savings to the project.

NTPC – Auraiya has also received National Safety Awards in winner and runner-up category.
