210 MW Fifth unit of Unchahar Test Synchronized

New Delhi September 28, 2006

The fifth 210 MW unit of Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Station of NTPC Limited has been successfully test synchronized today taking the total installed capacity of the station to 1050 MW.

The station supplies power to the states of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

NTPC Limited is the largest power generating company in the country with 14 coal , 7 gas based and 4 JV projects with a capacity of 26,404 MW. The company has an ambitious plan to be a 75000 MW+ Company by the year 2017.
