NTPC pays total dividend of Rs. 1979 Crore for 2004-05

New Delhi, September 27, 2005 

National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. (NTPC) has paid a total dividend of Rs. 1979 Crore for the year 2004-05, which amount to 24% of its paid up capital. The final dividend amounting to Rs. 885.55 Crore has been paid to Govt. of India today. The company had earlier paid to Govt. of India an interim dividend of Rs. 885.55 in March 2005, thus a total dividend paid to Govt. of India for the financial year 2004-05 is Rs. 1771.11 Crore.

A cheque amounting to Rs. 885.55 Crore was presented to P.M. Sayeed, Minister of Power in New Delhi today, by C.P. Jain, CMD, NTPC. D.N. Padhi, Spl. Secretary (Power), Govt. of India and other senior officials from Ministry of Power and NTPC were also present on the occasion. 

This is the 11th consecutive year that NTPC has paid dividend.
