5 Global Consultants to conduct
Iran-India Pipeline Project
Mumbai, Thursday, September 22, 2005,
Five global consultancies have participated in the pre-bid meet called by GAIL (India) Limited for the appointment of technical consultants to undertake pre-feasibility study for the Iran – Pakistan India pipeline project. The pre-feasibility of the estimated 2100 km pipeline, of which 1100 km will be in Iran, 750 km will be in Pakistan and 250 km in India, is scheduled to be completed by mid December 2005.
The companies that participated in the pre-bid meet include Snamprogetti of Italy, Technip of Germany, J P Kenny of Australia, Tractebel of Belgium and ILF of UK. Various issues and queries raised by the potential bidders were discussed during the meeting.
Having been entrusted with the responsibility to appoint technical and legal advisors for the Iran-Pakistan-India Pipeline Project, GAIL had earlier this month, floated global tenders for the appointment of these advisors.
